    • How to use methods from the field of experiential education to foster sustainable development?
    • How to make direct contact with nature an educational experience?
    • How to bridge studying nature and the environment around us with human nature inside us?

During our methodological training, we will go outdoors to experience directly the natural environment around us, but also human nature inside us and society around us. Utilizing various senses, we will get in contact with surrounding trees, meadows, and animals, and will explore how these organisms and ecosystems live and function. Going outside may also mean passing own boundaries and reflecting on one’s reactions. Thus, by studying nature experientially, we will explore both ecosystem linkages and human-nature relations. Nature will also be the starting point for an exchange about individual and societal values leading to (un)sustainable actions.

As a group, we will try out various methods and reflect upon them – some are likely to be new, some well-known yet with a twist. Participants can also get the chance to facilitate methods themselves, preparing them to work with different target groups in the field of education for sustainable development by using experiential education.

Target groups: (future) educators and trainers in non-formal education (e.g. environmental education, ESD) and teachers from Germany and Poland

Fees: Solidary fee structure; for participants living in .... Germany: 60-100 € // ... Poland: 100-200 PLN; including accommodation, meals and program
